RELATIONSHIP SERVICES

THE HIGHLY SENSITIVE PERSON:
IN RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships can be difficult but if you are one of the 15 to 20% of people that experience the world with heightened awareness, they might be even harder for you. Do you find crowds or large groups overwhelming? are you uncomfortable with loud noises or bright lights? Have you been told that you’re too sensitive and need to chill out? If you answered “Yes” to most of these questions, you are considered an HSP. I will work with you to understand this trait which, ultimately, is a gift once you know how to manage it.

SINGLES AND THOSE WHO ARE DIVORCED

AND RELATIONSHIPS
Are you tired of being alone but can’t figure out what’s getting in your way of becoming part of a loving couple? Perhaps you are meeting lots of people but nothing seems to stick. Believe it or not, many people are drawn to partners that are not good for them long-term. I am here to help you find what’s getting in your way of finding love that works.

IN OUR WORK TOGETHER, YOU’LL DISCOVER HOW TO:

  • Recognize a healthy partner
  • Notice Red Flags and listen to them
  • Manage your reactivity when you feel hurt, angry and afraid
  • Understand what factors create a healthy relationship
  • Become aware of negative beliefs you carry about relationships

Move out of isolation
Transitioning out of a single or divorced lifestyle into a committed relationship takes courage and time but is well worth the effort. No matter how old or young you are nor how many difficult relationships you’ve had, I will help you find your way into your own heart and then, if you want, into someone else’s. Love works and can be both wonderful and healing with the right partner.

RELATIONSHIPS AND TRAUMA
“RELATIONSHIPS SHOULD BE SAFE AND CARING.”
Many people who find themselves still single when others have married may carry a history of traumatic interactions with family. Whether you’ve been emotionally mistreated or ignored, physically, verbally or sexually abused, relationships have not proven safe for you. I invite you, at your own pace, to explore and share your stories with me.

ANXIETY AND RELATIONSHIPS

Many Clients Calm Down Instantly Just By Focusing On Their Breathing.
After studying some alternative approaches to healing, I am adept at helping clients lower their anxiety through breathing, guided imagery and mindfulness meditation. These techniques are invaluable in dealing with relationships and everyday stressors.

DEPRESSION AND RELATIONSHIPS

Depression Is Literally A “Holding Down” or “Depression Of Your Feelings.”
When you are depressed, you feel heavy, disempowered, passive, hopeless and alone. You find ways to disconnect that keep you feeling lonely. I will give you strategies that work to help you climb out of the darkness.

I Will Work With You To:

  • Manage Your Negative Thinking
  • Understand What Joy/Happiness feel like
  • Discover gratitude as an anti-depressant
  • Move From Passivity to Empowerment
  • Shift out of a lonely life into a more connected one

Bibliotherapy

Over the years, some people have found books to be great companions for our work so I have compiled this bibliotherapy list as a companion to therapy.
